CityLAB Hamilton, which has run as a pilot project since 2017, is now a permanent program. CityLAB is a collaboration between McMaster University, Mohawk College, Redeemer University, and the City of Hamilton. The program pairs faculty, staff, and students with community partners to develop policies and solutions to challenges facing the city. These include policies to reduce renovictions, improve water quality monitoring, and optimize performance metrics in Hamilton parking lots. “CityLAB speaks to the spirit of collaboration in Hamilton, providing students who are eager to make a difference in their communities with the opportunity not only to contribute but also collaborate with local decision makers and municipal government,” said Patrick Byrne, CityLAB project manager. “CityLAB projects provide extra resources, fresh thinking, and new tools to solve old problems.” Global News| Hamilton Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
