College of New Caledonia, École nationale de cirque, and Conestoga College have received over $611K from the Public Health Agency of Canada for the Open Minds, Open Hearts program. The program will create opportunities for social engagement between college students, people living with dementia (PLWD), and care partners. The project aims to reduce stigma, create weekly engagement opportunities, and support intergenerational connections. The project team will also create docu-films that raise awareness about PLWD and their caregivers. 1,800 students and 900 PLWD and their caregivers are anticipated to take part in the program.
