Dalhousie University has launched the Bridge into Agriculture training project to help support resiliency within the food system. The 22-week course is offered through Dal’s Extended Learning Department in partnership with African Nova Scotian Affairs, the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, and the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture. The course will cover African Nova Scotian history and connection to agriculture. Students will receive resources such as materials, seeds, and transplants so that they can start a backyard garden, as well as information on what they need to know about preparing the soil, soil health, maintenance, and harvesting.
