French-language postsecondary education in British Columbia is receiving a boost of over $4.7M from the governments of British Columbia and Canada. Funding will support the University of Victoria, Collège Éducacentre, and the University of British Columbia in collaborating on a capacity-building project that will focus on creating new programs and courses to improve French-language academic opportunities. The project will offer better academic support and enhanced cultural activities for Francophone students, and will enable educational partners and community organizations to increase coordination and networking.
