Georgian College has announced that it has joined the national esports advocacy group Esport Canada Post-Secondary (ECPS). The move connects Georgian with other schools, enabling it to share ideas to promote student success and best practices for growing esports. Georgian’s sport administration program will also be adding an optional esports course this Fall, and Georgian has plans to offer a game design and simulation diploma starting in Fall 2023. “It’s important for schools to support a wide variety of their students’ interests and while our CyberGrizzlies esports club is fostering a love for esports on our campus, it’s equally important to encourage the growth of esports everywhere,” said Georgian manager of esports Carol Meissner.
