Georgian to establish downtown location with $7.5M from City of Barrie

Georgian College has received a $7.5M investment from the City of Barrie to support the creation of a downtown location. The new downtown Barrie location will offer programs in areas such as design, emerging technologies, and entrepreneurship to up to 1,000 students. “Our new downtown location will offer cutting-edge facilities, strengthen our connection to the city, and provide students with immersive, real-world learning opportunities,” said Georgian President Kevin Weaver. “We’re deeply grateful to the City of Barrie for their investment in our shared future.” Georgian anticipates welcoming students to the new location in September 2026.
