Several institutions have recently announced tuition increases for the 2026/27 academic year. The University of British Columbia Board of Governors has reportedly approved tuition fee increases of 2% for domestic students and between 2–4% for international students. Similarly, the University of Calgary Board of Governors has approved a 2% increase for domestic students and a 4% increase for international students, as well as various increases to general student fees, residence rates, and parking. Meanwhile, the NAIT Nugget reports that NAIT is proposing exceptional tuition increases for select programs, though the student union has refused to support the increases.
