Institutions announce updates on collective agreements, bargaining

NOSM University, the University of Manitoba, and York University have announced updates on their collective agreements and bargaining. NOSM and its Academic and Professional Staff Union have agreed to extend their collective agreement for one year with changes such as a 1% raise. UManitoba’s Association of Employees Supporting Education Services ratified a collective agreement that will last for seven years and includes changes such as salary adjustments, extra vacation days, and a parental leave for both parents of up to 18 weeks. YorkU has applied to the Ministry of Labour, Training, Skills and Development for the appointment of a conciliation officer to support the university and the York University Staff Association’s collective bargaining.
