Institutions cancel classes, adjust operations in face of winter storm

Institutions from Ontario to Newfoundland and Labrador closed or adjusted operations in response to a significant winter storm on Monday. Several of Ontario’s postsecondary institutions were closed for the day in response to the storm. The same was true in the Atlantic region, where most institutions closed for the day. Some, such as Holland College, St Francis Xavier University, and the University of Prince Edward Island, opened later in the day. In response to the high power demand in Newfoundland and Labrador, Memorial University encouraged members of the community to conserve power.
