Postsecondary institutions across Canada celebrated Earth Day with special events, informational resources, and other activities. Institutions such as Lakehead University and Mount Allison University held special events to reduce waste and keep their campuses clean. Camosun College and MacEwan University shared highlights of on-campus sustainability efforts from the last year, while Wilfrid Laurier University held an “Earth Day News Hub takeover” to share stories about relevant research. Camosun and the University of Waterloo also offered resources and learning opportunities to teach the community how to make more sustainable choices. Trent University shared a stewardship plan for its 900-acre greenspace, while Université du Québec à Montréal released its ecoresponsibility plan for 2026–2029, which proposes 27 measures for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
