Labour agreements have been struck at three universities recently. Wilfrid Laurier University and the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association, which represents contract teaching faculty, have ratified the tentative agreement that was reached through mediation on November 16th. At the University of Manitoba, a revised collective agreement has been ratified with UNIFOR, which represents over 300 caretakers, power engineers, tradespersons, and dining services employees at the university. The University of Victoria and CUPE 4163, which represents UVic’s continuing and term sessional lecturers and music performance instructors, have reached a tentative agreement that will take effect retroactively from May 1, 2022 to April 30, 2025 when ratified.
