Lakeland College has launched a new Community Support Practitioner diploma program. The program will teach students how to support community members of all ages, abilities, and needs who require assistance. Students will complete courses on topics such as personal assistance awareness, counselling techniques, gerontology, and pharmacology, and will complete four four-week practicums. “Graduates of this program will start their careers with the skills and experience needed to support and work with individuals across the spectrum of life-span development,” said Lakeland Dean of the School of Health, Wellness and Human Services Janice Aughey. The program is reportedly the only diploma of its kind in Alberta. Lakeland| My Lloydminster Now Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
