The College of Nurses of Ontario have provided preliminary approval for a bridging program between Collège Boréal’s Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program and Laurentian University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN). The pathway would enable Boréal students to earn a BScN within three years rather than the conventional four years, in turn addressing the need for francophone registered nurses in Northern Ontario. “Today’s students want flexibility more than ever,” said Boréal VP Academic Lynn Michaud. “This agreement will enhance our offerings in terms of student mobility.” Laurentian’s French BScN received a seven-year accreditation from the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN).
