Laurentian expresses cautious optimism as confirmations see year-over-year increase

Laurentian University has announced that it is experiencing a 25% year-over-year increase in overall confirmed students for Fall 2022. According to Laurentian’s internal data, domestic graduate confirmants and undergraduate international confirmants have both increased by over 30%, and OUAC adds that domestic transfer, mature, and online students (105) have increased by over 30%. Declines were reported by OUAC among domestic high school confirmants (101s) and across the overall total domestic undergraduate confirmants. “With a successful emergence from CCAA on the horizon, and after undertaking a comprehensive academic restructuring to align LU’s program and course offerings with what students want to learn, LU is well positioned to view future enrolment with optimism,” said Jeff Bangs, Chair of Laurentian’s Board of Governors.
