CIC News reports that the Government of Manitoba has begun to issue Provincial Attestation Letters (PALs) to international students who have been accepted at Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs). MB is delivering PALS through the province’s DLIs. Applicants in MB may also need to pay a deposit to receive their PAL; the University of Manitoba has reportedly announced that applicants will be expected to pay a deposit within 10 days of a decision being made on their application. CIC News also offered further details on the process being used by the Government of Alberta, which is providing PALs upon request from postsecondary institutions . The University of Alberta and the University of Calgary are reportedly requiring applicants to pay a deposit and accept their offer of admission before the institution will request a PAL from AB.
