McGill University and the Université de Montreal have received $26M from the Trottier Family Foundation to research astrophysics and exoplanets. McGill’s Trottier Space Institute will receive $16M, which will be used to construct an annex to the institute’s current building, fund graduate and postdoctoral fellowships, and expand program and research support. UMontreal’s Institute for Research on Exoplanets (iREx) will receive $10M to support its research on potential life outside of the solar system.
