The Michener Institute of Education at UHN has announced that it will be offering a new program to train people to fill health human resource (HHR) gaps. The Fundamentals in Health Care program will use an online format to train students and will assess students’ prior knowledge and skills for credit. Students will be able to work at their own pace and will also be offered experiential learning opportunities. “Keeping up with rapid change in health care requires new options for students, and Michener has a long history of innovative programming to prepare graduates for jobs in health care,” said Michener Principal Dr Harvey Weingarten. “This program will help fill the current and anticipated serious staffing shortages in our health care system.” Michener Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
