The Government of New Brunswick has announced funding to create four more medical seats at Université de Moncton’s Centre de formation médicale du Nouveau-Brunswick (CFMNB) , starting in 2023. The addition builds on the expansion of provincially funded medical seats at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick, Université Laval, and Université de Montréal; and NB is reportedly exploring opportunities to add additional seats in the future. “The recruitment and retention of health-care workers is a top priority, and we are proud to partner with CFMNB to increase the number of medical seats we provide,” said NB Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Trevor Holder. “This investment will allow even more New Brunswickers to study medicine in the province, which increases our chances of retaining them after graduation.” UMoncton also recently received funding for medical seats from the Government of Nova Scotia and the Government of Prince Edward Island.
