New Brunswick Community College has signed an MOU with First Nations Education Initiative Incorporated (FNEII) to enhance the college’s Indigenous education and foster academic cooperation. NBCC and FNEII will collaborate on a variety of areas to support Indigenous learners, including increasing postsecondary access, planning and developing programs together, and promoting higher education to Indigenous learners. “We know that Indigenous learners are underrepresented in post-secondary education across the country and here in New Brunswick, however, knowing isn’t enough, said NBCC President Mary Butler. “We need to understand the needs of First Nations youth today. That understanding can only come from meaningful partnerships where both parties learn from each other and work together towards shared outcomes.” NBCC Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
