North West College will provide comprehensive tutoring and mental health services for students, thanks to a funding boost from Cenovus Energy. The investment will expand North West’s tutoring services, providing students with free academic support in a variety of subjects. It will also improve mental health supports, with services for substance abuse and harm reduction, community development, and culture. The funding will also further career development for students through workshops that focus on resume building, interview skills, and job search strategies. “We are excited to leverage this funding to provide invaluable support to our students, helping them achieve their academic and career goals,” said North West President Dr Eli Ahlquist. Cenovus will contribute $120K for these services over the next three years.
