NOSM U, Lakehead receive FedNor funds to support training in Northern Ontario

The Government of Canada has announced two investments through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FedNor) to support training in Northern Ontario. NOSM University has received nearly $2M to establish and expand its training facilities across Northern Ontario. The funds will be used to retrofit learner spaces and purchase specialized equipment. Lakehead University has received $1.5M to support the Collaborative Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program, which is offered in collaboration with the University of Guelph. The funds will enable Lakehead to purchase the required laboratory and research equipment for the program.
