Okanagan College and the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) have partnered to offer additional cohorts of the college’s Hospitality Professional Program and fill staffing shortages in the hospitality and tourism industry. The first 17 weeks of the program are offered flexibly online, followed by nine weeks of work experience within the local community. Students will develop their skills in areas such as management and leadership, human resources, and computers, and will complete industry certificates and college certificates such as Hospitality Service Training and the Basic Accounting Certificate. The program will be offered an additional three times over the next two years to boost the number of workers in the sector.
