ON announces financial supports for PSW training, scholarships for e-sports

The Government of Ontario made two major funding announcements late last week. ON announced that it is re-launching a financial support program for students who are pursuing personal support worker (PSW) training. The $54.7M program will provide funding to students who enrol in PSW programs at OSAP-approved private career colleges between June and September 2022. The stipend aims to help students with costs related to tuition, books, mandatory fees, and clinical work placements. ON also announced a $1M investment over two years in order to establish the Ontario Esports Scholarship. The fund will support students enrolled in programs related to game design, development, and marketing.
