Red Deer Polytechnic has announced a new model for learners seeking recognition for past educational experience. Under the new model, learners will automatically receive recognition for credits earned at any publicly funded Alberta postsecondary institution. Beginning in July, RDP will also offer free prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) of credits earned from any publicly funded postsecondary institution in Canada. “This new approach opens clearer, more supportive pathways for learners to build on their previous education and experience—helping them earn a new credential, step into a new career, or enter the workforce with confidence and momentum,” explained RDP VP, Academic & Student Experience Lindsay Engel.
