RMC 150th anniversary recognized with silver collector coin

The Royal Canadian Mint has recognized the Royal Military College of Canada’s 150th anniversary through the creation of a silver collector coin. The $20 face value coin was unveiled at a ceremony this week by RMC Commandant Brigadier General Pascal Godbout, Royal Canadian Mint Interim President Simon Kamel, and Kingston Mayor Brian Paterson. The coin depicts the RMC clock tower at an upward-facing angle with five stars in the sky, symbolizing the college’s five cadets who have since become Canadian Space Agency astronauts. The coin will have a limited mintage of 6,500 coins worldwide.
