RMCAA releases statement addressing concerns raised by Arbour Report

The Royal Military Colleges of Canada Alumni Association Inc (RMCAA) has released a statement addressing the report from former Supreme Court Justice Louise Arbour, which raised concerns about the Royal Military Colleges and questioned if they should continue to offer training. The RMCAA stated that the board is continuing to reflect on the report and the failings that enabled abuse to occur and persist, and encouraged alumni to focus their response on how the institution can be made better. The association also indicated that it believes there is value in continuing education at the colleges. YGK News reports that the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces have until the end of the year to determine which of the reports’ recommendations to implement.
