Royal Roads University has unveiled the name of its new campus in Langford: RRU Langford | John Horgan Campus. The name pays tribute to the late British Columbia Premier John Horgan, who worked to expand postsecondary access in the community. At the naming ceremony, Royal Roads revealed the concept for the campus’s signage and announced the creation of the John Horgan Entrance Award for undergraduate students at the campus. Royal Roads President Philip Steencamp announced that the university aims to raise $1M for the scholarship by Horgan’s birthday on August 7. “As a firm believer in the power of higher education to change lives, John understood the doors it could open for the next generation of changemakers,” said Steencamp.
