StFX, UAlberta, UCalgary, URegina, USask receive Mitacs, PTRC funding for cleantech R&D internships

Mitacs and the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC) have announced a four-year funding program that will create new internship positions for students in “cleantech” research and development. Under this agreement, PTRC and Mitacs will contribute a combined total of $6M from 2024 to 2028 to support student interns and postdoctoral researchers at St Francis Xavier University, the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, the University of Regina, and the University of Saskatchewan. The funded projects will investigate cleantech topics, such as geothermal energy, blue hydrogen, and CO2 capture and storage, among others.
