Students, faculty, staff across BC benefit as Feed BC initiative expands to 20 institutions

Thanks to the Feed BC initiative, students, faculty, and staff from across the British Columbia postsecondary sector have been able to enjoy more local food on campus. The Feed BC initiative initially launched in 2011 with nine institutions and has since expanded to 20 institutions. The 11 newest partner institutions are Capilano University, Coast Mountain College, College of New Caledonia, Douglas College, Langara College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Nicola Valley Institute of Technology, Okanagan College, Royal Roads University, the University of Victoria, and Vancouver Island University. KPU announced that it has partnered with Feed BC and Compass-Chartwells to bring organic produce grown by KPU faculty and students to cafeterias across campus. Through the partnership, students gain hands-on farming experience as they help to plan, plant, and harvest produce for campus.
