The University of Toronto has received a $6M donation from the family of John A Tory to provide additional funding for students completing a combined law and business degree. The donation will fund annual needs-based bursaries and merit-based scholarships for at least four joint JD/MBA students with a scholarship range of $20K to $40K per year. The donation will also support the establishment of an annual lecture that will provide a place for students, scholars, and professionals to explore issues in tax law. “These scholarships will ensure the best and brightest of students can take part in the program, based on their merit,” said U of T Rotman School of Management Dean Susan Christoffersen.
