U of T to receive up to $56M for deep energy retrofit projects at St George Campus

The University of Toronto will receive up to $56M from the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) for deep energy retrofit projects at the St George Campus. Projects will include switching a gas boiler to an electric one, installing a steam turbine in the central heating plant, and embarking on deep energy retrofits for six buildings. The funding will also support the establishment of a low-carbon energy source and the implementation of green-technology solutions across campus. “Our Climate Positive plan will transform the energy sources on our Campuses to ensure we can deliver on our mission of excellence in research and learning for generations to come,” said U of T President Meric Gertler.
