The University of Alberta has provided the research necessary for the creation of an online resource hub that will provide support to Albertans experiencing domestic abuse. The Domestic Abuse Resource Hub offers a variety of resources, such as connections to counselling, videos, podcasts, and written materials. It uses artificial intelligence to suggest relevant resources and to improve its offerings the more it is used. The site will also help researchers identify gaps in information and learn more about how people search and what information they are looking for. “If we understand how people impacted by abuse seek help, we can better support them,” said Associate Professor in UAlberta’s School of Public Health Stephanie Montesanti, whose research formed the basis for the hub.
