The University of British Columbia has announced the launch of a new social media hub called CoSphere, which is designed to help people connect with one another and take action for a sustainable future. The Hub is a project of Dr Kai Chan, a professor from UBC’s Institute for Resources, Environment, and Sustainability. As the hub evolves, Chan told The Province that he hopes to add interactive elements such as Ask Me Anything (AMAs) events and webinars and develop programs that can be used in schools. “Transformative social change really takes way more than … private actions,” explained Chan. “When you change social norms and put pressure on the system to change in particular ways. That’s when you have power.” CoSphere| UBC| Global News (Video)| The Province Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
