The University of the Fraser Valley has announced that it will be constructing a new student housing facility out of mass timber on its Abbotsford campus. The facility will increase the number of student beds by 398, as well as expanding the number of available dining facilities and common areas. The Government of British Columbia will provide $70.3M in support for the $82.3M project. “This beautiful and modern new building will transform UFV’s Abbotsford campus, and this means nearly 600 students will call our campus home during their studies,” said UFV president Joanne MacLean. “Their energy will revitalize our spaces and their presence will provide a lively key element in Abbotsford’s growing U-District.” UFV| Journal of Commerce Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
