The University of the Fraser Valley has introduced a new revenue-neutral fee structure for electric vehicle charging stations across campus. The university explained that the change will enable it to upkeep and improve its electric vehicle charging infrastructure, without seeking to generate a profit. “The introduction of user fees aligns with broader sustainability goals at UFV, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting cleaner transportation alternatives,” explained UFV Director, Energy and Environmental Sustainability Doran Hoge. Revenue-neutral fees will apply only to UFV-owned ChargePoint stations, while BC Hydro stations will have independently set rates.
