UManitoba announces new seats, plans to expand respiratory therapy program

The University of Manitoba has announced plans to double its respiratory-therapy program to address the need for more respiratory therapists in the province. In response to the Government of Manitoba’s request that UManitoba expand its program, the College of Rehabilitation Sciences add four seats to it’s the next fall intake of its bachelor of respiratory therapy. A university plan to expand the program from 20 seats to 40 by the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year is also under review. The expansion plan will need to receive government approval, as well as one-time and ongoing funding to support it, before it can proceed. Winnipeg Free Press (Acct. Req.)
