The Université de Moncton has received an investment of nearly $2M from the Canada Opportunities Agency for Artificial Intelligence to bolster the university’s training capacity in artificial intelligence (AI). The university will use the funds to create a professional master’s program in AI and data science, acquire computer equipment and tools, and create a centre of AI and data management excellence called the Pôle d’excellence de l’Atlantique en intelligence artificielle et gestion des données (PLEIADE). PLEIADE will work with external partners to support students with internships and research projects. UMoncton also recently announced that its forestry school – the École de foresterie de l’Université de Moncton – has passed a Bureau canadien d’agrément en foresterie review and been granted accreditation for six years.
