The University of New Brunswick has formally opened the $1M Shankar Computer Science Laboratory, in addition to naming the inaugural Barrett Chair in Entrepreneurship for Digital Transformation. The new computer lab includes 74 workstation class machines and 70 machines that are globally accessible, enabling students to use them from their homes. It was created thanks to a donation from UNB alumnus Subramonian Shankar. UNB and the McKenna Institute also recently named Dr Kenneth Kent as the inaugural Barrett Chair in Entrepreneurship for Digital Transformation. The position is funded by a $2.5M donation from New Brunswick business leaders Edward and William Barrett, and will focus on driving digital progress in the province.
