UNB receives $2.5M commitment to support AI, data science research

The University of New Brunswick’s McKenna Institute has received a $2.5M gift from alumnus Dick Carpenter to support research at the university. The gift will support interdisciplinary research on AI and data science and enable UNB to compete with larger universities in these fields. “The advantage that this provides for businesses and public services in Atlantic Canada will be profound as UNB partners with the private and public sectors to deliver industry-leading research that advances the interests of our province and region,” said UNB President Dr Paul J Mazerolle.
