The University of New Brunswick has received a $750K donation from the Medavie Foundation to support youth mental health research. Funding will support staffing expenses for a new Chair in Youth Mental Health until 2031, as well as fund the chair’s research operationalisation and public outreach efforts. Funding will also support the development of the Health and Social Innovation Centre, which will house the team. “The Research Chair in Youth Mental Health will lead an applied, action-oriented research program dedicated to improving access to and the quality of youth mental health services in New Brunswick,” explained UNB Integrated Health Initiative Director Heather Campbell.
