The University of Guelph has celebrated the official opening of its renamed student wellness centre: The Vaccarino Centre for Student Wellness. The centre was renamed for former president Franco Vaccarino, who focused on student wellness during his presidency from 2014 to 2020. The centre offers an expansive array of student services and resources, and fourth-year UoGuelph student Charlotte Cherkewski stated that it creates “safe spaces for students to learn and ask questions.” “As we know, wellness goes beyond physical health,” said UoGuelph Chair of the Board of Governors Shauneen Bruder. “It is about ensuring our students feel supported so that their health, academic work and personal growth can all thrive.” UoGuelph Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
