The University of Ottawa is partnering with Cisco to provide engineering students with job-ready training for careers in IT and cybersecurity. As part of this partnership, the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification will be integrated into UOttawa’s Computer and Software Engineering curriculum. “The CCNA certification is the industry standard stamp of approval for IT networks jobs,” explained UOttawa Professor Guy-Vincent Jourdan. Cisco will also supply equipment to the university’s Cyber Range to support cybersecurity research. This partnership aims to help close Canada’s skills gap by strengthening ties between the public and private sectors and building a robust pipeline of IT and cybersecurity talent.
