The University of Prince Edward Island’s new UPEI Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation has opened in St Peters Bay. The centre is focused on providing climate change education and related skills development. The facility houses UPEI’s School of Climate Change and Adaptation, the UPEI Climate Lab, research centres such as the Centre of Excellence in Food Security and Sustainability, and laboratories and workspaces. “It’s designed to help us live with climate change, both its positive and negative impacts,” said UPEI School of Climate Change and Adaptation associate professor Adam Fenech.
