The University of Prince Edward Island has shared an update on two of its new policies: A Harassment and Discrimination Policy and a Sexual Violence Policy. The policies have officially received the endorsement of the UPEI’s Board of Governors and the university states that they are substantively agreed upon, legally compliant, and ready to move forward. However, UPEI states that it cannot implement the policies until it receives the consent of the UPEI Faculty Association. UPEI noted that it will be engaging in collective bargaining with the faculty association soon and that it is committed to implementing the policies at the earliest possible opportunity.
