UQAM to establish social cohabitation centre in Quartier latin

The Université du Québec à Montréal has received more than $1.2M from the Government of Québec in support of a three-year initiative focused on social cohabitation in the Quartier latin area of Montréal. The initiative—the Pôle de cohabitation sociale du Quartier latin—will bring together the university and several partner organizations to provide support to vulnerable populations in the quarter. The project will ultimately make the area more inclusive and welcoming, according to UQAM Recteur Stéphane Pallage, who highlighted work UQAM has already done in this area.
