UQAR launches veterinary medicine program with UMontreal

The Université du Québec à Rimouski is launching a veterinary medicine program in partnership with the Université de Montreal. The program will train 25 students a year, half of which will specialize in large animals. Students in the program will study for the first three years at Rimouski campus and complete their fourth year in Saint-Hyacinthe. In their fifth year, students will complete an internship partly at the Centre hospitalier universitaire vétérinaire de Saint-Hyacinthe and partly in vulnerable regions. A new $100M pavilion, which will include a veterinary simulation centre and an animal facility, will be built at UQAR to accommodate the program.
