The University of Regina officially opened its new Saskatoon campus with a ribbon cutting ceremony last week. The new 16,000-square-foot facility will host the Faculty of Social Work, the Faculty of Nursing, and La Cité universitaire francophone. In addition to classrooms, the facility includes student gathering and study spaces, breakout rooms, and dedicated spaces for smudging and other Indigenous cultural practices. “A university’s reach should not be limited by the walls of its main campus,” said URegina President Jeff Keshen. “Our students live, work, and build their lives in communities across Saskatchewan, and our responsibility is, whenever possible, to meet them where they are.” The campus was built using a $4.2M investment from the Government of Saskatchewan.
