The University of Victoria Board of Governors has voted not to accept the recommendation from its senate to introduce an indoor mask mandate. The senate voted 23-19 in favour of bringing back an on-campus mask mandate during its voting session last week. In their request, senate members wrote that “dropping the mask mandate … fundamentally alters the learning and working environment for immunocompromised students, staff, faculty, and librarians.” The university has issued a statement indicating that it “continues to strongly encourage the use of masks indoors.” Victoria News| CHEK| CTV News| UVic Note: Archived stories may contain dead links or be missing source links.
