UWindsor pledges action on international student diversity

The University of Windsor has pledged to diversify its international student enrolment following the recent Ontario Auditor General report. The review found that UWindsor was significantly reliant on enrolment from a small group of countries, which increased the risk that external factors “could significantly impact a university’s financial health.” UWindsor VP of finance and operations Gillian Heisz told the Windsor Star that the university is working on diversification efforts in South America, Central America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. “It is typical for us to not see the fruits of our labor when it comes to international student strategies for three to five years,” said Heisz.
