Vancouver Island University is now offering an updated technology diploma: the Business Information Technology Systems diploma. This diploma replaces VIU’s Web and Mobile Development diploma, which was paused for a review. The updated offering has a stronger focus on AI, cybersecurity, and business skills, shaped by industry feedback. Students will engage in technical training and hands-on projects as they develop their skills in areas such as system analysis, app development, and data management. “Employers are looking for people who can connect ideas to solutions,” said VIU Program Chair Brandon Britt. “We want graduates who can understand a problem, design a solution and deliver it in a real-world setting.”
